I have always painted, firstly landscapes and flowers and then in 2000 I started to paint wildlife. With the arrival of my dog Betti I wanted to paint dog portraiture, to capture her character in the painting, using a limited palette of inks and watercolour.
"I wanted to give my dog portraits a timeless quality so I stained the paper and deckled the edges as if they were drawn by an old master or found in an attic."
Each dog portrait is totally unique. It is up to you when sending me an image to make sure that you send one that conveys your dog's character, the angle of the head, the inquisitive nature of your beloved pet.
